All delegates to Hot.E are charged UK VAT, no matter where they are physically located. The VAT is charged because the event is located in the UK, per the rules and regulations relating to EU VAT.

Delegates based in the UK, who are registered for UK VAT, can reclaim the VAT via their usual quarterly VAT returns.

Delegates based outside the UK, but in the EU, may be eligible for a VAT refund and should contact the VAT authority in the country where their company is VAT registered.
